Santa Cruz Loop in the Cordillera Blanca (5-day trek)

DAY 1: LIMA Arrive Lima afternoon, assistance, (optional Lima city tour), dinner at hotel and overnight at Costa del Sol Ramada (D).
DAY 2: LIMA/HUARAZ Assistance at airport for morning flight to Huaraz, lunch at hotel, afternoon city tour of Huaraz (private), dinner at local restaurant, overnight at Hotel Andino in Huaraz (BLD).
DAY 3: CHAVIN DE HUANTAR Full day tour of Chavin de Huantar (private), lunch at Konchukos Lodge, return to Huaraz, dinner at a local restaurant, overnight at Hotel Andino in Huaraz (BLD).
DAYS 4-8: 5-DAY SANTA CRUZ LOOP TREK (PRIVATE)
DAY 4: Drive to Huascaran National Park, visit Llanganuco Valley lakes, hike in the small valley Quebrada Demanda, drive over Portachuelo de Llanganuco Pass (4,750m/15,580ft), short hike to Vaqueria campsite (3,700m/12,136ft) (BLD)
DAY 5: Hike to Paria or Tuctu campsite (Time: 5-6 hours; Distance:11 kms) (BLD).
DAY 6: Hike to Taullipampa, or Quiswarpampa campsite(4,100m/13,448ft). (Time: 7 hours; Distance: 13 kms) (BLD).
DAY 7: Hike to Llamacorral (”beach”) campsite (3,500m/11,480ft).(Time: 6 hours; Distance: 16.5 kms) (BLD).
DAY 8: Hike to Cashapampa, drive back to Huaraz, dinner at hotel, overnight at Hotel Andino in Huaraz (Time: 2:30 hours. Distance: 7 kms.)(BLD).
DAY 9: Transfer to airport for flight to Lima (or elsewhere in Peru), depart Lima (optional transfer and day room at Jose Antonio Hotel, transfer to airport for late night flight departure) (end of services in package) (B)
SERVICES INCLUDED:
All transfers, 1 night hotel in Lima, 3 nights hotel in Huaraz, full day tour of Chavin de Huantar, all meals indicated in itinerary (B=breakfast; L=lunch: D=dinner); transportation by vehicle to start and from the end of trek, large two-person tent; sleeping pad, bilingual guides, burros and mule driver; cook, commissary gear and dining tent (chairs with backs).
